Hillstone Invests in Big Data AI Tech Company NamuPlanet
Hillstone Partners, an investment company specializing in digital assets, has invested in NamuPlanet, a big data-based artificial intelligence (AI) company.
“Hillstone Partners agreed to participate in Namu Planet’s three-way allocation paid-in capital increase and officially announced the completion of investment payment,” NamuPlanet stated. “We are expanding demand for FDS (Fraud Detection System) technology all over the world.”
Founded in 2012, NamuPlanet is a company specializing in big data solutions and services. There are corporate data AI analysis services, anomaly detection solutions, and virtual asset exchanges AML/FDS integrated management solutions. The FDS, which is NamuPlanet’s primary focus, analyzes users’ transaction patterns and tendencies to detect fraud transactions through intelligent profiling techniques.
The FDS solution has been applied to most financial institutions in Korea, including banks, insurance, securities, simple payments, and e-commerce, starting with the standards of the FDS guidelines of the Financial Security Agency in 2016. NamuPlanet is applying its own technology to financial institutions such as post offices and Kakao Bank Pay Securities and e-commerce, and will also be applied to the Ministry of Public Administration and Security’s prevention of illegal financial supply and demand in 2022.
Gong Kyung-sik, CEO of NamuPlanet, said, “There are two types of securities: physical security and logical security. Physical security refers to public certificates, firewalls, and access control, while logical security is a way to limit transactions when exceptions are detected by grasping user tendencies and patterns. “The exchange security issues can be solved only when these two types of securities are combined.”
