Hillstone Signs Partnership with SDX Foundation to Form Carbon DAO, the Decentralized Environment Organization
The SDX Foundation and Hillstone Partners signed a business agreement on the 14th. Two companies will cooperate to form Carbon DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization), a decentralized environmental organization for the voluntary carbon reduction market.
Carbon DAO is a practice-oriented decentralized organization in which individuals interested in carbon reduction and environmental protection can operate and participate together. Carbon DAO is designed so that all individuals can participate and operate together in transparency in allocating financial resources through blockchain, issuance of carbon-reducing NFTs, and major decision-making and operation of organizations.
The SDX Foundation and Hillstone Partners decided to contribute to the initial configuration, organizational activity goals, action roadmap, and practical carbon reduction project support so that the Carbon DAO can be operated for its purpose and practice.
In order to create a digital-based voluntary carbon reduction market, the SDX Foundation has made various efforts to present carbon reduction indicators and carbon reduction measurement standards that can be used in various industries, such as developing a CRI.
Jeon Ha-jin, chairman of the SDX Foundation, said, “We need to pursue a positive policy that changes the paradigm by creating a sustainable new industry based on digital transformation rather than a regulatory policy.”
Voluntary community activities on climate and environment around the world are a suitable ecosystem for DAO, a decentralized organization, to most effectively utilize voluntary carbon reduction behavior based on active participation and practice, said Rayol Hwang, CEO of Hillstone Partners.
“We expect to become the world’s first decentralized environment organization where people around the world can directly participate and communicate through Carbon DAO,” he added.
